Maria Menounos

Maria found out she was facing a personal health crisis as she was caring for her mother with stage 4 brain tumors. In February 2014 Menounos started experiencing troubling symptoms. In the exclusive cover report of PEOPLE Menounos discusses how she was suffering from headaches and lightheadedness when she was on sets. "My speech was slurred. It was also difficult for me to comprehending the teleprompter." An MRI discovered that Menounos suffered from a large golf ball-sized meningioma brain tumor which was pushing into her facial nerves. Menounos scheduled an appointment with her mother's doctor renowned Neurosurgeon Dr. Keith L. Black The surgery was scheduled for June 8th, her 39th birthday. Dr. Black said it was 98 percent safe. But, we won't know that when they've reached that point. During the complex surgery, which took around seven hours the surgeon Dr. Black was able to take out 99.9 per cent of the cancer. This was benign. She says that Dr. Black stated that it is likely to have the tumor reappearing in six to seven percent of the cases. These odds are my best choice. Menounos she was admitted to the hospital for six days, is currently at home, and spending time healing. Maria Maria Maria
