Yael Stone, a native of Australia, and who moved to New York City in 2013 in the film, played Lorna Mello as a prisoner In Orange Is the New Black. Yael has a diploma from NIDA. Yael was fortunate enough from a very young stage to be a part of Australia's premier storytellers and performers, as well as visionaries within the TV, film and theatre industry. Yael has a very successful career in Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael made New York City her home after the Brooklyn Academy of Music produced the critically-acclaimed production. Yael was co-founder at The Cannery. From an Bushwick, Brooklyn studio, The Cannery is a place to promote new writing, innovative creative projects, and supports the formation of new writers.
